If You Need Them, Here are Six Reasons to See Sure Sure on Thursday!

Sure, sure, you could miss the Sure Sure show at the Columbia City Theater on April 5^th, but I’ll give you six good reasons not to!

1. Despite being together since 2014, Sure Sure just came off their first North American tour with Hippo Campus, so if you saw them when they played the Neptune this year, you’ll want to catch this show to see how much they’ve learned and improved!

2. If you didn’t make it to their tour with Hippo Campus, then this will be your first time seeing them, so you can be blown away by how great they’re going to be on their Spring tour.

3. The band is witty as heck. The song “Friends” is a catchy tune that tells the tale of being broken up with in a Baja Fresh (a lovely Mexican fast food restaurant), a heartbreaking situation that they manage to make light of by laughing at it. If you need a good chuckle, Sure Sure is the band for you.

4. Local band and KXSU favorites, Strawberry Mountain are going to be opening the show because Sure Sure makes an effort to find the best up and coming artists in each city they tour. Strawberry Mountain competed in this year’s Sound Off! and made it to the finals with their synth-charged psych-rock sound.

5. Talking Heads fans will probably be into this gig because the band are HUGE fans too! They do a cover of “This Must be the Place” that takes on a more bubble-gum pop approach to the classic.

6. DANCE! If you like to move it and groove it, this is the show for you! Not only do all of their songs feature funky beats and catchy-choruses, they’ve even made up their own original dance! It goes along with their song “Hands Up Head Down”. The move goes a little something like, you keep your hands up in the air and put your head down when the song says to, then you sway from side to side. It’s fun and easy for everyone to do!

There ya go, if you like catchy music, bands who work hard, laughing, dancing, and supporting local artists, this could be the show for you!
