Counting Down the Days Until Whitney Takes Neumos

I’m counting down the days until I get to see Whitney perform at Neumos. Specifically, that day will come on Tuesday, April 11th. I couldn’t be more stoked. Whitney is one of those bands that has a sound so unique and powerful that one can’t help but associate them with different chapters of life. I’ve only been on the Whitney train since the beginning of the school year, but the intensity of this kick has placed them on the soundtrack of my junior year at Seattle University. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate their inclusion than by seeing their live set.

I’m imagining that their concert will mostly contain songs from their debut album, Light Upon the Lake. One thing I can say for certain is that when they play their song “Golden Days,” I will absolutely lose myself. I can see it now: the entire audience swaying together and singing in unison to the “na na na na” part. I’m getting chills just thinking about it.

Unfortunately, this show is already sold out. However, those of you lucky enough to have gotten tickets already will meet me on April 11th at Neumos at 8:00 p.m. Their opening act is Julie Byrne.

It’s been a while since I’ve been this excited for a concert. I believe the performance will match my expectations.
