“Music recommendations coming straight from the stars”

Is Astrology fake? Maybe. Should you still check your horoscope? Since you’re reading this article, you know the correct answer is, yes. Boring horoscopes be gone! Here’s the songs each sign will need to hear to get them through the month ahead. Plus, a list of upcoming astrological and astronomical events to look forward to.

Reminder: The stars have no real bearings on our lives, unless you allow them to…

The new moon in Sagittarius rolls around on December 7th. Geminids Meteor Shower will be soaring across the sky on the 13th and 14th. The 21st marks the winter solstice, the first day of winter in the Northern Hemisphere, and the first day of summer in the Southern Hemisphere. Shortly after on the 22nd, the moon is full! A Cancer full moon is lovely for lovers and love-lusters alike. Who’s ready to smooch?

A minor meteor shower, the Ursids meteor shower, comes to town during the 21st and 22nd of December. Optimal viewing is just after midnight; far from the city and light pollution, it’s possible to catch a glimpse of the brightest meteors- the glare of the full moon will prevent full visibility.

The Cold Moon, this month’s full moon, is an opportunity for reflection on your efforts in previous moon cycles, and, hopefully, benefit from those intentions you may have set during the corresponding new moon six months prior. Full moons are like giant celestial spotlights- they illuminate areas of the self which may have been hiding, unnoticed, or underappreciated.

The night of the new moon is prime time for forming goals or personal timelines. Both sun and moon rest in one zodiac sign on this night – for all signs, but specifically Sagittarius, a new moon is energizing. In the darkness, concentrate on your innermost desires.

*** Mercury retrograde in Scorpio is December 1st (today) until the 6th.
*** Venus enters Scorpio on December 2nd.

***The same night of the new moon, the 7th, Mars & Neptune will meet in Pisces. Mars is the ruling planet of action, ambition, sexuality. In conjunction with Neptune, incentive to act will be shrouded in indecision; Neptune is the planet of inspiration, idealism, and vision. Be wary of the limits of day-dreaming- if you spend the day thinking about what you should do, or want to do, have you really done anything?

SAGITTARIUS (November 22—December 21): Admit it, you do like attention – you just don’t know how to manage it. Afterall, it’s your birthday, and when the Archer parties, it’s bound to be a night of shared passions, stories, and stupid jokes. Combat anxiety by avoiding intense relationships. Celebrate yourself and those who do the same.

Forget the happy birthday song, you must be serenaded by Johhny Thunders & the Heartbreakers. Listen to L.A.M.F.: The Lost ’77 Mixes.

CAPRICORN (December 22—January 19): If you don’t own a journal, buy one before the month ends. Pick up a planner, too. At the risk of making Capricorns more manic than usual, here is the sole piece of advice offered to the cardinal earth sign: even the most excruciatingly detailed schemes rely on an element of luck.

Need a change of pace? Listen to Big Fan of the Sesh, Vol.1 – Biig Piig

AQUARIUS (January 20—February 18): Make moves… Aaaaand mistakes. Mercury in Retrograde is unavoidably irritating for Aquarians – communication is not an air sign’s strong suit. Meditate or ruminate or whatever it is you do to make sense of all the muck this month.

Country Girl – Boy Harsher

PISCES (February 19—March 20): So busy, yet so bored. Obviously, the end of the year is full of change, but especially for you, Pisces! Cycles might need to be broken. Who knows? I guess you’ll have to find out. And come December 17th, Mars connects with Pluto, you will; plan your goals after the merge to avoid the messiness of weeks prior.

Patiently awaiting the surprise…. To Saturn Over Sunset

ARIES (March 21—April 19): Forgetting isn’t a reality right now. The energy shift of Mercury transgressing from Sagittarius to Scorpio has you feeling adventurous and antsy; Scorpio’s influence brings up issues of the past as well as fears of the unknown. Pay attention to the water signs in your life; you tend to emotionally paralyze yourself, so mixing with water will create a little steam. Feel the spark!

In Tension – Light Asylum.

TAURUS (April 20—May 20): Time to have the *talk*. Your past is going to return to the present in December. Whatever you thought had been said, might need to be said again. Venus, your ruling planet, influences relationships- specifically those of a hanky-panky nature.

Turn up the heat and tune out the noise of anything other than Caramel by Connan Mockasin.

GEMINI (May 21—June 20): You said WHAT? Give your friends, but partners specifically, a break for not communicating as actively as you are known to do. Don’t go ghost when your boo doesn’t respond on time! Instead, focus on the frustrations you encounter at work and achieving aspirations. Your susceptibility to distraction and indecision is heightened in December.

Lift the fog with the sound of TOKIMONSTA’s Lune Rouge.

CANCER (June 21—July 22): Is anyone else sweating? This is a busy time for you, Cancer! Running around the city, you might bump into old lovers. Remember the intention of your past self, and honor them in your current decisions. Venus has you feeling frisky; December is all about love for the little crab. Don’t quite care for romance? Write yourself a love letter.

Listen to Love Me the Way I Love You by Jerry Vale. (Just please, please, don’t text your ex)

LEO (July 23—August 22): It may be winter, but the Sun is shining in the sections of your chart which speak to creativity, sensuality, and energy. Take the month of December to focus on your home – redecorate and beautify the space. Sag season has you in the mood to party, so you best make your home suitable for guests!

Deep clean to Amala by Doja Cat.

VIRGO (August 23—September 22): Comfort is key this month. Wrap yourself in blankets or words of affirmation. Don’t hesitate to break your routine and find a different comfort zone.

Road trip tunes = Bossanova by the Pixies

LIBRA (September 23—October 22): Being productive feels damn good. Congratulate yourself for working hard all year. Ironically, the balancing scales seem to be something you struggle with. Remember that with every achievement must come a period of rest.

Utopia – Björk

SCORPIO (October 23—November 21): Sting someone and suck out the poison. Confrontation awaits the scorpion. Stick to a healthy social life and surely the fight will blow over. Unless, of course, you started it.

End it to World Vision – Tommy Genesis
