Remember That Time I Said I Wasn’t Going to Be A Raver?

Remember that time, after I went to Freaknight in October (and yes, I had fun, don’t get me wrong) and my head kind of hurt and I lost my voice for three days and I said, “Fun experience, but I don’t think I am going to go to another big rave?” Well, here I am, highly anticipating the Zomboy: Rott N’ Roll Tour with BTSM, Badklaat, Gammer, and Space Laces. This is a USC event, taking place at Tacoma Dome on Saturday, February 23rd from 7pm-12am.

Now, I have never been to the Tacoma Dome, so for your benefit and mine I did a little bit of research on the venue. The Tacoma Dome is one of the largest wood domed structures in the world. It is owned and operated by the City of Tacoma’s Venues & Events Department. Flexibility is the key to the success of the Tacoma Dome. With new state of the art telescopic seating and an extensive curtaining system, almost any event is possible. The unique configurations mean the Tacoma Dome can accommodate 1,000 to 23,000 patrons, making it the largest indoor venue in the state of Washington. You can read more about the Tacoma Dome’s history here, I think it might impress you.

Zomboy is Joshua Mellody, a sound engineer whose aggressive, bloodthirsty tracks range from stadium-ready dubstep to drum’n’bass and electro-house. He was born in England and has worked in the US and UK. He kicked life off as Zomboy in 2011 with the Game Time EP, released by the label Never Say Die. With the EP spending eight weeks as one of Beatport’s Top Five dubstep releases, Zomboy charted next to his idols on the online music retailer’s charts, and by the end of the year, his music and remixes were licensed to compilations on labels like Warner and Ministry of Sound. Fans of Zomboy also like Eptic, Figure, Kill The Noise and Bear Grillz so if any of those names are familiar to you, you might be interested in checking out Zomboy.

BTSM (Black Tiger Sex Machine) will also be performing. Black Tiger Sex Machine are a trio of electronic music producers from Montreal, Canada. Known for their heavy electro and bass sound, they perform a unique show in which they combine tracks, loops, drums, samples and synths into an intense barrage of sounds and beats, all while wearing their iconic Tiger Helmets. They started gaining popularity in 2012 and since then have done many tours, including tours in South Africa and Europe. Fans love their energetic and innovative performances and that is one big reason why they draw such large crowds. My roommate is most excited to see them perform next Saturday, so I am looking forward to seeing what she has been raving about (no pun intended).

In addition to these two performers, Badklaat, Gammer, and Space Laces will also be there. I am anticipating a good night! The Zomboy: Rott N’ Roll Tour is coming to Tacoma Dome on Saturday, February 23rd. This is an 18+ event. I highly highly recommend you check out the USC website before you attend; you may want to look at the things you can and cannot bring into the venue. USC does an awesome job of insuring the safety of their participants and part of that is limiting what can be brought inside the venue. You can find tickets to this event HERE.
