Being a music reporter for KXSU has given me the opportunity to see some wonderful artists, and some insanely good concerts. I have been to my fair share of shows, so what I am about to tell you is big news: SYML is coming to Seattle. I have seen SYML once before and it was (wait for it) the best concert I have ever been to. And now you can see him too. SYML is coming to The Neptune Theater this Sunday, December 8th so get ready for a night of magical music.

SYML, known to his friends as Brian Fennell, is a Seattle native who is also a member of the band Barcelona. I was first introduced to SYML from the SiriusXM station “The Coffee House” (this is the one your dad turns on during long car rides when we all know he’d rather be listening to Queen, but The Coffee House is the only thing the whole family can agree on). So, I guess thanks dad for introducing me to one of my favorite musicians.

Since 2017, SYML has released a plethora of singles and albums. You may recognize his song “Where’s My Love,” which has been featured on TV shows, the radio, and even a few commercials.

SYML’s music is so alluring because it is unapologetically human. It is raw, beautiful, sweet and simple. His lyrics and melodies are smooth and easy to listen to, and no matter how much I listen to these tracks, I never seem to get sick of them.

One of my favorite parts of his show that I attended was his engagement with the audience. He answered questions and told stories and bridged the gap between audience and artist. When I see musicians talk and laugh and mess up it makes me feel like I know them better, and therefore I understand their music better.

To make this all better, The Neptune is one of my favorite venues. If you haven’t been, then this is the time, go check it out. I do not accept finals as an excuse.

SYML is coming to The Neptune Theater on Sunday, December 8th with special guest EXES. Doors open at 7:00pm and the show starts at 8:00pm. This is an all-ages show. Tickets can be found HERE.

You can connect with SYML on Facebook, Instagram, or on his Official Website.
