Carl Garsbo, better known by his stage name of Kasbo, is a 22-year-old rising star hailing from Sweden. The electronic producer makes music that’s bright, fun, and downright exciting to listen to. He sounds like a combination of Flume, Ramzoid, Mura Masa, and Petit Biscuit—a list of highly danceable, very exciting artists. I’ve been listening to Kasbo for a few years now, first getting hooked on him when I heard his ethereal bop “World Away,” an addicting song with looping melodies, light lyrics, and an undeniable feel-good undertone.
Doubtless to say, I’m beyond excited to see him at his (sold out!) concert at Neumos this Saturday, April 28th. And what is a better (or more niche) way to capture the excitement I feel about his familiar, exciting, but still puzzlingly complex music?
That’s right—describing my night, play-by-play, with the familiar, exciting, and puzzlingly complex script of tweets from @Cher (yes, you read that right—Cher, the Goddess of Pop).
Let’s get started, shall we?

1. It’s Friday (the day before the concert.) I start thinking about all the fun surprises that await me at my favorite Swedish producer’s concert.
2. It’s the day of! I start getting ready for my exciting night of dancing with the sold-out crowds of the Cap Hill Neumos location. I look myself in the mirror to hype myself up for a fun night.
3. I start cracking jokes and bonding with other people in the audience before the show.
4. The concert is taking juuuust a little too long for the opener to come on… I start getting very in my own head, looking at photos on my phone and overthinking everything.
5. Concert still hasn’t started. I try to guess how many people there are in the rest of the audience.
6. The concert is taking so long to begin that I wonder if I have somehow died and are stuck in this forever purgatory of waiting for the concert. I question my own existence.
7. The show finally starts! I am euphoric! It’s amazing!
8. I go to take a photo of Kasbo DJ-ing it up and my phone inevitably freezes or shuts down.
9. The show ends. I am heartbroken but have my fun memories.
10. I go back to my room, the post-concert emptiness quite evident in my heart. I fill the void with more dancing, this time alone, happy to have my memories. <3
Kasbo will be performing at Neumos on Saturday, April 28th. The event is all-ages, and Kasbo will be joined by openers Baynk and Evan Giia. Although the event is currently sold-out, you can keep checking on the Neumos website for tickets. The show begins at 8:00 PM.
