Every week here at KXSU we like to shout our DJs that we feel have gone above and beyond what they’re required to do at the station. This week we’d like to talk about Karina! Karina is a first year DJ who did an amazing job helping us tear down our equipment after the Cataldo In-Studio a little over a week ago. To say thanks, we thought we’d catch up with her and ask her some fun questions about KXSU.
Ciara: Describe yourself in under 140 characters:
Karina: I like having fun. I think that cookies should always be had with milk. Music is great, music is cool. I pick up odd talents sometimes too.
C: What is your favorite thing about KXSU?
K: I really like how there is a nice little community with its own thing going on while being part of the school and the radio and playing everything really loud is awesome.
C: What’s your current favorite song?:
K: I think I’d have to say Human by The Killers.
C: Tell us what your show is about?:
K: I’m mainly focusing on soundtracks from shows, movies, games-soundtracks and scores in general. I also play songs that I like listening to from Daft Punk to The Chordettes to John Powell.
C: If you could have lunch with any artist dead or alive, who would it be?
K: Daft Punk for sure, they’re such amazing musicians.
