If you like indie pop/rock and dance-y retro sounds, then this may be the show for you! Saint Motel and Finish Ticket will be playing at The Crocodile on Thursday, April 2nd at 8 PM. This is an all ages show so everyone and anyone is welcome.

Finish Ticket, an alternative rock band from San Francisco, will be opening. Their LP, Tears You Apart was recently released in 2014 and features songs like “Numb” and “Take It Out”. Their song, “Tranquilize” is incredibly catchy with its heavy drumbeats and simple, repetitive lyrics. Their sound is similar to that of The Colourist and Bad Suns. If you aren’t familiar with this band and want to take a listen before the concert, I would highly recommend “Tranquilize” and “Catch You On My Way Out.”

Hailing from Los Angeles, Saint Motel is a fun mix of indie pop-rock and a unique retro dream pop. In 2007, the band came together with A.J. on vocals and guitar, Aaron on guitar, Dak on bass, and Greg on the drums. Some bands that are comparable include Vacationer, St. Lucia, and Atlas Genius. The Guardian says, “each of their songs announces itself with a flourish and no little élan, and there’s a light sprinkling of Caribbean rhythms, tropical flavours, and lounge-jazziness throughout.” Together, they are a retro, slick spectacle.

Their first full-length album, Voyeur, was released in 2012. Their newest EP, My Type came out on August 14, 2014 and has caught the attention of many with their dream pop sounds and features songs like “Cold Cold Man” and “Ace In The Hole.” Their most well known song, “My Type,” features catchy brass and super dance-y beats, which will hook you in an instant. If you aren’t familiar with Saint Motel, I would recommend listening to ”My Type” and “Benny Goodman.”

As a fan of this band, I am extremely excited to see them live. I’m expecting a lot of limb movement, head bobbing, and hopefully a really sick brass section. These two bands put together should create a really fun wow-this-is-so-fun-and-I’m-going-to-dance-all-night-long kind of concert. So if you’re into that, I would highly recommend purchasing a ticket right now. If you’re interested, you can still buy tickets here.
