Time for Takeoff: A Preview of the  Flight Facilities Show at The Showbox on February 21st

Ladies and gentlemen, please prepare for takeoff—two incredible electronic groups will be mixing it up on one night. Flight Facilities will be performing at The Showbox along with Beat Connection on Saturday, February 21 at 9 pm (doors open at 8 pm). This is an 18+ show so don’t bring your children, folks.

Flight1

Flight Facilities is an electronic duo from Australia composed of Hugo Gruzman and James Lyell. Although they don’t like to be boxed into one specific genre, they are heavily influenced by artists such as Daft Punk and Mylo. You have probably heard their debut single, “Crave You,” which was released in 2010. Their first album,  “Down To Earth” was released in October 2014 and features some incredible talent like Giselle, Owl Eyes, and Kylie Minogue. Now, they are coming to Seattle, which is one of their 16 stops on their Down to Earth North American Tour.

Flight2

Beat Connection, a local and independent Seattle indie pop and electronic group will be opening. This electronic duo came together in 2008 as students at UW, releasing their first EP, Surf Noir, in 2011. Now, they have grown to have four members, consisting of Reed Juenger, Tom Eddy, Jared Katz, and Mark Hunter. Since then, they have played at various events including the Sasquatch! Music Festival in 2012 and the Capitol Hill Block Party in 2014.

With these two groups coming together for one concert, this is bound to be a fantastic show. As a fan both Flight Facilities and Beat Connection separately, I am so excited to see these two great groups, one international and one local, perform in one venue.

Sound like a good show? Yeah, I thought so, too. If you’re interested in attending this show, you can purchase a ticket here! See you there.
