There are few things in this world as satisfying as a good ol’ rowdy indie rock show on a Saturday night, which is why I’m so excited to see Wavves headline Chop Suey on November 17th. With a decade long career consisting of a ridiculous amount of alt-rock bangers, I’m fully expecting Wavves to bring the heat to the chilly Seattle night.

Breaking out of the scene with their self-titled debut album in 2008, Wavves immediately turned heads from critics and music lovers alike with their distorted and chaotic yet infectious sound, similar to that of FIDLAR or Black Lips. Since that point, the San Diego rockers have released seven more albums throughout the years, each one a little different, but still holding onto the carefree and slightly frantic sound from their first album.

Wavves hasn’t played a show in Seattle since last year, and I only expect great things from them this time around. They’re bringing Midwestern group Shy Boys on the road with them this tour. It’s near impossible to not completely adore the bubblegum indie-pop five-piece, thanks to their airy vocals, catchy guitar licks and sunshiney harmonies.

Tickets are selling quick for this show, and it’s not one that you’ll want to miss. For more information click here, and make sure to check out the websites of both Wavves and Shy Boys!
