2019 is in full swing now. Tons of people are flooding the gym and cramming at the library in hopes of fulfilling their resolutions for the year. However, another goal you should have is to attend more concerts. Seattle is constantly brimming with shows from artists of all different genres, backgrounds, and creative perspectives and you should take advantage of that. What better way to start than with Indie Rock newcomer Snail Mail.

At just 16 years old, Lindsey Jordan started her career as Snail Mail with her self-recorded EP Stick in 2015.After signing with Sister Polygon Records, she released the EP Habitone year later. Songs like “Thinning” from the EP were met with critical acclaim from music sites like Pitchfork. Within 2017, Jordan reaped the benefits of her rise to popularity, touring with well-established bands like Girlpool, Waxahatchee, and Beach Fossils. That same year, she signed with Matador Records to release her debut album Lush in 2018.

Since the release of Snail Mail’s debut, fans have flocked to Jordan’s music for its raw vulnerability and painfully relatable lyrics. Jordan’s voice is filled with turmoil and confusion as she sings her way through themes of confusion, loss, and love. “Pristine,” the lead single from her debut album, deals with the difficulties of detaching yourself from someone you’re infatuated with but who doesn’t feel similarly for you. Jordan tackles such a topic with genuine despair in her singing.

Currently, Jordan is touring in support of her debut record, Lush, which also received rave reviews from music journalists everywhere. The last time Snail Mail played Seattle was last June at the Crocodile, and since then, her fanbase has flourished remarkably.

Jordan and her band will be playing the Neptune Theatre on January 28th at 8 pm. The show is unfortunately sold out, but don’t forget to follow Snail Mail on Instagram and Twitter!
