JUST B, originally known as Bluedot Boys, underwent rigorous training before debuting. Several members, including GEONU and JM, previously participated in popular survival shows like “I-LAND” (which produced the boy group ENHYPEN) and “Under Nineteen,” gaining early exposure and a fanbase. Their debut mini-album, “JUST BURN,” features the title track “DAMAGE,” highlighting their dynamic choreography and intense musical style. The group is known for their teamwork and dedication, often participating in the creative process of their music and choreography. They aim to bring a fresh and impactful presence to K-pop, distinguishing themselves with their unique sound and passionate performances.

JUST B is a South Korean boy group formed by Bluedot Entertainment. The group debuted on June 30, 2021, with six members: GEONU, BAIN, LIM JIMIN, JM, DY, and SANGWOO. Known for their powerful performances and strong vocal abilities, JUST B has quickly gained attention in the K-pop industry. Their music blends energetic dance tracks with meaningful lyrics, showcasing their versatility and talent. Since debuting with the track “DAMAGE,” JUST B has released quirky songs like “MBTI” featuring Oklahoma’s own K-pop star AleXa, and “MEDUSA,” proving their versatility.

On May 22, 2024, JUST B dropped a new EP entitled “Daddy’s Girl.” The title track combines the raw appeal of punk rock with a softer touch, making it perfect for head-banging and singing along from the passenger seat. The boys sing about their struggles with their relationships, portraying themselves as “broke-a*s punk-singer wannabes” while the girl they love breaks their hearts because she is too ‘hot’ for them.  The EP includes different versions of the title song, such as an explicit version, a clean version, a sped-up version, and an instrumental version. In the special video (linked below), the members seem to be mocking a girl’s boyfriend and later teaming up to create a boyband, hoping to win her back despite only being able to offer her $20. BAIN stands out in this video in particular, and he’s the epitome of cool with a cute face and incredible vocals that set him apart effortlessly.

This song feels a lot like it was written during the summer of 2014 by the Australian boy bands, The Janoskians and Five Seconds of Summer. It’s extremely likable, and while it might not be relatable to everyone, it’s a great listen for those recovering from a breakup, dealing with daddy issues, or meeting a baddie who is a “daddy’s girl.” It’s perfect for fans of 80’s soft rock or 2010s boy bands. I particularly enjoy LIM JIMIN’s singing voice in this track; he is a great rapper AND  a great singer who is also very handsome (not that it matters, but it does). Please give JUST B a listen—you won’t regret it. As someone who has followed them since their debut, I can attest to their continuous growth and production of amazing songs that deserve much more attention. You can stream this song on Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Music. Be the 10/10 baddie they sing about by streaming “Daddy’s Girl” this summer.
