Spring’s here, and it’s brought a ton of incredible show announcements with it! Fleet Foxes? Sylvan Esso? Animal Collective? Our wallets simply aren’t ready. KXSU’s sharing some of the recent Seattle show announcements that we’re stoked about!

In no particular order…

ANNA’S PICK: Sylvan Esso at The Neptune Theatre

It took me a bit longer than I’d like to admit to hop on the Sylvan Esso train, but now that I’m here, I’ve been listening to songs from their debut self-titled record on a near-daily basis. (Started from the bottom, now we’re here, right?). Naturally, I couldn’t be prouder to welcome my fellow North Carolina natives to Seattle this summer. Their new record, What Now, drops later this month on April 28, 2017, and the singles they’ve released so far are to die for. Only a couple more weeks until it drops, but who’s counting?

…me. I’m counting, and I’ll also be over here counting down the days until I see Sylvan Esso at The Neptune.

Sylvan Esso are playing two sold-out shows at The Neptune Theatre on August 18 and 19, 2017.

APRIL’S PICK: Fleet Foxes at Paramount Theatre

Y’all know that I’ve been talking about the return of the angels of music, Fleet Foxes, since Robin Pecknold started dropping hints of a new album on his social media. On March 28th, our eternally crossed fingers finally relaxed after hearing that Fleet Foxes would return to Seattle once again for an “intimate” show at The Showbox on May 19, 2017. Unfortunately, while an intimate show will be the perfect way to reunite with these foxes, only a lucky few were able to snatch those tickets before this show sold out in an instant. But lo and behold, they just recently announced a bigger show later this fall at the beautiful Paramount Theatre to promote their long-awaited third album, Crack-Up. Get your eyes and ears ready, folks, because heaven’s coming to you real soon.

Fleet Foxes will be playing at Paramount Theatre on September 14, 2017. Tickets are on sale now. Find more info here.

EMMA’S PICK: Tash Sultana at The Neptune Theatre

From being a teenager trapped in nine months of drug-induced psychosis, to notorious Melbourne busker, to viral sensation, Tash Sultanas alternative reggae-esque tracks are awesome, in the truest sense of the word. Sultana visited the Tractor Tavern at the end of February to end her first U.S. tour (that sold-out a month in advance, without a label) and will be embarking this fall on a full North American tour, and tickets are going fast. If you dig her unique loops, vocals, guitar riffs, and overall vibe, get your tickets now.

Tash Sultana is playing at The Neptune Theatre on October 24, 2017. Tickets are available now. Find more info here.

JULIA O’S PICK: Animal Collective at The Neptune Theater

I had the privilege of seeing Animal Collective last year at The Neptune Theatre shortly after the release of their latest full length, Painting With. Animal Collective just released a short EP, The Painters, earlier this year, too, but it’s yet to receive much attention. Just give me some nice, intelligent electronic music and some flashy lights, and I’ll be in good shape. Round two of Animal Collective live, here we go!

Animal Collective will be playing at The Neptune Theatre on Thursday, June 29, 2017. You can get tickets here.

GRIF’S PICK: Newaxeyes at Barboza

Forward-thinking genre-benders Newaxeyes are stopping by Barboza this May to tear the place to shreds, and destroy your perception of what music really is. I saw them last year at the Black Lodge and it was purely transcendental. I still don’t know what genre they technically would be, as they kind of do it all. And by “all,” I mean a fascinating combination of post-rock, ambient, and…sound? Who cares? All that matters is that you do not want to miss them and their beautiful soundscapes. Get tickets now before they blow up and “stadium ambient” becomes a thing.

Newaxeyes are playing at Barboza on May 18, 2017. Get tickets here.
