Looking Forward to LANY on November 7th at the Showbox

LANY, made up of Paul Klein, Les Priest and Jake Goss, is a Los Angeles based trio who first formed to work on a couple of tracks, produce a demo, and have some fun in the process, is now captivating millions of listeners with their unique and heartwarming sound. LANY began the pursuit of their musical dreams in a one-bedroom apartment in LA, where they worked hard doing what they love to get where they are today.

LANY exploded in 2015 with the release of their song “ILYSB” (I Love You So Bad). “ILYSB” marked the moment where LANY reached over the heads of the A&R community and started connecting directly with fans. The song’s ability to make the listener feel both calm and euphoric is characterized by the minimalist soundscape. Now, with over 80 million plays on Spotify, “ILYSB” is one of LANY’s most popular songs. Want to hear for yourself? Listen here.

To LANY, and especially to Klein, visuals are everything. The band pays special attention to the presentation of their music—they make art for their art. “I want everything about LANY to be just a little bit more beautiful than real life” says Klein, “I want it to be extremely aspirational, so whatever we do, sound, vibe, and our appearance…I want to just be like very out of touch with reality, like the colors are just a little bit brighter, the sounds are just a little bit louder, the lyrics are just a little bit, almost unreasonably, emotional. I want it to be aspirational in that sense.” LANY’s beautiful music videos combine their unique sound with an aesthetically pleasing visual which will take your senses on a lovely trip. See the music video below for “Super Far” to experience more of the magic that is LANY.

LANY has released a trio of EPs: I Loved You (2015), Make Out (2015), and kinda (2016), all paving the way for their debut self-titled full-length album which was released on June 30, 2017. By the end of this year, the band will have performed over 135 shows in more than 28 countries, one of which will be tomorrow night, November 7th, in Seattle.

Opening for LANY is the incredibly talented Norwegian pop singer Dagny. Her emotional lyrics offer a strong sense of what it’s like to be in your twenties today. Her songs capture what it’s like to celebrate the twilight of one’s youth as adulthood insists on taking hold. As if I wasn’t excited about this concert enough, this beautiful young woman will no doubt keep me on the edge of my seat.

LANY will be performing at the Showbox Theater on November 7th. Doors open at 7:00 PM and the show starts at 8:00 PM. This is an all ages event. For ticket prices and event information visit the Showbox website.

You can connect with LANY through their social media platforms on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, or on their Official Website.
